Diana Benedetti was born and raised in Cartagena, Colombia, a city of fables, history and legends which influenced her style. She has always been intrigued by the nature of the human condition and this has made her reflect in her mission in life, as an artist. Diana uses nature, color, and objects as tools to express a message of faith, hope and love.

Diana has worked professionally as a full-time artist for more than 30 years. She studied painting in Beaux Arts School as a teenager and studied Fine Arts in Georgia State University, Miami Dade College and University of Miami. In UM she attended Art History courses which have helped her expand her understanding of art and its influence in the history of humanity. Her life as a woman, a mother and a wife have also been a fountain of inspiration for her work. 

Diana's works are full of bright colors and textures that enrich the content and message of her style. She uses oils, because she it is a very noble medium. “I love its brightness and smooth consistency, which lets me manipulate the paint in many ways. I also love the slow drying time and the durability of oils: With the appropriate technique, works in oil will last a lifetime.”

As a mature artist, Diana has become very well known for her realist paintings. She uses symbols, messages and objects which tell the story of our humanity, our perfections and imperfections. With her paintings, Diana hopes to spark emotions in the viewer and maybe change hearts to help improve the world in which we live in.

Diana Benedetti nació y fue criada en Cartagena, Colombia, una ciudad llena de fábula, historia y leyenda que ha sido influyente en su estilo como pintora. Desde siempre, le ha intrigado mucho la naturaleza de la condición humana y esto le ha permitido reflexionar sobre su misión en la vida. Utiliza la naturaleza, el color y los objetos como instrumento para expresar un mensaje de esperanza, fe y amor.

Diana ha trabajado profesionalmente como una artista de tiempo completo por más de 30 años. Comenzó sus estudios en la Escuela de Bellas Artes cuando era adolescente y ha estudiado artes plásticas en Georgia State University, Miami Dade College y University of Miami. En la Universidad de Miami asistió a cursos de Historia del Arte que le han ayudado a expander su entendimiento del arte y la influencia que este tiene en la historia de la humanidad. Su vida como mujer, mamá y esposa también han sido fuente de inspiración para su trabajo como pintora.

Las obras de Diana están llenas de vibrantes colores y texturas que enriquecen su contenido y mensaje. Utiliza óleos pues es un medio que le permite dar una consistencia muy particular, colores permanentes y una calidad insuperable. "Me encanta la consistencia suave y el brillo de los óleos que me permiten manipular la pintura de muchas maneras por su secado lento. Me gusta mucho la durabilidad del óleo que con una técnica apropiada garantiza que una obra de arte dure toda una vida."

En su madurez, Diana es reconocida por su obra realista. Utiliza símbolos que al reunirlos en sus obras cuentan una historia de la naturaleza humana, de sus perfecciones e imperfecciones. Diana siente que cumple su misión cuando su trabajo despierta emociones en el espectador. Por medio de su talento, ella aspira a mejorar el mundo y de alguna manera hacerlo un mejor sitio para vivir.
